Easily access your SMB file shares directly from the Downloads/Files app in Android. This is a simple, open source SMB client that allows you to mount an SMB file share on your Android device to instantly appear as a network drive.

It's easy to setup by simply entering your server path/share, login credentials and tapping "mount". Your shared folder would be then instantly shown in the Android files app. It's a very simple, clean and lightweight SMB client. It also doesn't require root privileges as it utilizes the native Android SMB API (v4 only).

Note: Currently this plugin only works with File Expert V7 which is the world's most popular and feature rich Android file manager. This is because this plugin has been separated as a plugin in order to minimize APK size and improve performance. After installing this plugin, you can launch it by launching File Expert and selecting the Tools tab.

This is a Samba/CIFS (Common Internet File System) client that connects to Windows or Samba servers over Wifi/3G/4G. The client is based on the Samba open-source re-implementation that helps bridge several Unix/Linux operating systems to Windows files and servers. Samba is part of the standard Windows interoperability suite and can integrate Linux/Unix Servers and Desktops into a Microsoft Active Directory domain as either a Domain Controller or a Domain Member.

Unlike other more complex Samba clients, this one doesn't use any external libraries or dependencies (only Android's standard SDK). Also unlike those, it isn't ad-supported and is able to run without root privileges (v4 only). It also has a clean and light user interface that's easy to get used to after trying it for a few times.
